What is Camp Lassen?
Camp Lassen is a Scout Camp owned and operated by the Golden Empire Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The camp is located 45 minutes east of Chico in Northern California and about 60 miles from the famous Lassen Volcanic National Park. Set amongst California's wooded Sierra foothills, there are few places as beautiful as Camp Lassen. Action-packed yearly-themed activities include: campcraft, nature, handicraft, boating, swimming, fitness, archery, BB gun shooting, campfires, stargazing and much more. Our Cub Scouts have made incredible memories at Camp Lassen over the years!  We will find out this year's theme soon!
 
Dates: July 16-19, 2017
 
Cost:   Youth $200, Adults $200 (additional cost for Camp Lassen T-shirt is $12-15) A $50 per/person, non-refundable deposit is due to Louise by Friday, December 9th.  Checks payable to Pack 281 can be delivered or mailed to me at 2112 Dry Diggins Way, GR, 95670.  
 
Suggested Payment Schedule:  You can either pay entire balance at once or on a payment schedule.
$50 per/person non-refundable deposit due by Friday, December 9. 
$50 per/person due at the January 27th Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting.
$50 per/person due at the February 17th Blue and Gold Celebration.
Final balance due at the March 24th Pack Meeting.

A sincere thank you to all our Pack 281 families who participated in this year's Trails End Popcorn Fundraiser!  Our Pack sold $9,665 in Show and Sell and Take-Orders - it was a HUGE success and we look forward to be able to provide quality programs, events, and advancement awards to the Scouts this Scouting year!  Please remember to bring your payment for all outstanding balances to the Ruygts' Home by November 27th. Thank you also to all the families who participated in the Veterans Day Flag Ceremony and Recognition at Gold River Eskaton and to the families who brought toy and blanket donations to benefit Christmas in Cordova and Loaves and Fishes! Wishing all our Pack 281 Families a joyful Thanksgiving!

November Pack Meeting - 11/19 - 6:30-7:30 PM - GRDC MP Room

We are looking forward to seeing you Friday night for our November Pack Meeting - "Courteous - Cubs in Shining Armor."  Cubs will be making holiday Cards for the Troops.  Please bring a new unwrapped toy or blanket for our Community Service project to benefit The Cordova Toy Project and the Loaves and Fishes Blanket Project.  Thanks to the 16 Scouts and their families who attended the Veterans Day Flag Ceremony at Gold River Eskaton.  The Veterans were truly appreciative for the support and recognition!

Please join us at the Veterans Day Flag Ceremony at Eskaton Gold River. Please RSVP on the website (www.pack281.net) so we can get an accurate headcount. The residents truly enjoy seeing the boys and appreciate the recognition for their service. Please arrive in Class A uniform by 8:45 AM. You can find additional parking in La Petite next door. The ceremony will begin at 9 AM and will be about 30 minutes. 

Halloween Carnival Pack Meeting, 10/28 - 6:30-7:30 PM - GRDC MP Room

Join us for a Spooktacular Halloween Carnival Pack Meeting on Friday, October 28th.  Bring your family - siblings are welcome to participate in the fun! You may wear a costume or your Class A uniform. Parents, please talk with your den leader about what help they may need in gathering materials - each den will need a couple parents to supervise their fun game or project. Scouts and siblings will have fun rotating through each den's sponsored areas!

Pack Volunteers 2016-17 - Need Help with Planning Pinewood Derby and Blue & Gold!

Hooray!!!  Over half of our Pack 281 families signed up to help with our fun-filled events for this school year.  We still need volunteers with a few events in January and February:  helping to plan Pinewood Derby, helping to plan for our Blue and Gold Celebration (Cub Scout Birthday Celebration for our February Pack Meeting), and helping with set-up for Blue and Gold. If you would can volunteer at one of these events, we NEED YOU!  Please email Louise (arias.louise@gmail.com).  No experience needed - we will let you know details of what needs to be completed. The Pack Helps the Cub Grow!
